NHL Standings, Schedule and Wild Card: Capitals, Panthers, Lightning, Rangers Lead East, Blackhawks, Stars, Blues, Kings Best In Western Conference

The NHL standings heading into Friday has the Washington Capitals, Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning the top teams in the eastern conference, while the Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues lead the western conference.

The Caps are first in the overall standings with 73 points and they have a big lead over the Panthers, Tampa Bay and the Rangers. The team has been playing very well overall this season and they are currently the first team in the overall standings in the NHL. The Panthers, Tampa Bay, New York and the Islanders are next in the standings, followed by the Red Wings and Bruins.

The west has the Blackhawks leading the way with 68 points and they currently have a three point lead over the Dallas Stars. The Blues are next in the standings and they have a two point lead over the Kings, while the Wild and Sharks are next in the standings. The division leaders in the east are the Panthers in the Atlantic and the Caps in the Metro division. The west has the Blackhawks tops in the Central, while the Kings are first in the Pacific.

The current wild card standings in the east have the Bruins and the devils tied with 53 points and they are in ahead of the Penguins and Montreal. The west has the Wild leading with 54 points, while the Avalanche are in the second spot ahead of the Predators and the Coyotes.
