NY Jets Rumors: What Will New York Do With Their Free Agents? Muhammad Wilkerson, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chris Ivory, Stevan Ridley Return?

The New York Jets will be heading into free agency with several of their key starters up for sale. The Jets need most of the players they could lose and will be busy with resigning these guys for quite a while this offseason.

The Jets will have Muhammad Wilkerson (Defensive End, who is easily their best pass rusher), Ryan Fitzpatrick (Quarterback), Chris Ivory (Running Back), Stevan Ridley (Running Back), Calvin Pace (Linebacker), Demario Davis (Linebacker). Wilkerson will be their biggest free agent as he is an absolute stud pass rusher who creates matchup problems wherever he is on the field.

With Wilkerson breaking his leg recently it is not known what his market value would be but it would be in the best interest of the Jets to get a deal signed quickly. Fitzpatrick is the most successful quarterback the Jets have had in the past few seasons. Fitzpatrick is clearly the Jets main option at quarterback and cannot afford to let him go. There are a lot of quarterback hungry teams this offseason so he should get a couple of offers if he hits free agency. Then the running attack should be rebuilt as Stevan Ridley and Chris Ivory will be free agents.

Ivory should resign but the Jets should draft a younger running back to help carry the load. Pace and Davis have been key role players the Jets cannot afford to lose. Pace may retire however Davis should command some offers if he hits the open market.
