Super Bowl 50 is on schedule for February 7 from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California and the TV coverage will be from CBS for the game. The NFL championship matchup starts at 6:30 pm ET for kickoff and the halftime show this year will feature Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Beyoncé.

UPDATE: The Panthers and the Broncos have advanced to the Super Bowl.

The league is using the number "50" over the traditional use of Roman numerals for the game to highlight the history of the Super Bowl and the notable "golden anniversary" for the game. Levi's Stadium is hosting the game soon after opening as the new stadium for the San Francisco 49ers and this is the first Super Bowl game in the Bay Area since 1985.

The Arizona Cardinals entered the divisional round of the playoffs as the overall favorites to win the Super Bowl, according to ESPN.com. The Las Vegas odds at the Westgate SuperBook had the Cardinals 3-1 favorites at the time, while the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers were next at 4-1. The Cardinals were the second seed in the NFC and they are now into the conference championship game after winning over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday.

The Patriots advanced to their fifth straight AFC championship game with a win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Cardinals won 26-20 over the Green Bay Packers in overtime after Aaron Rodgers put up an amazing Hail Mary to send the game into the extra period. The Packers pulled off the amazing play, but nearly as fast as that happened, the Cardinals scored and won the game.

The Cardinals connected on a 75-yard play to Larry Fitzgerald and after that Carson Palmer hit Fitzgerald with a shovel pass, which resulted in the game-winning score. The Patriots won 27-20 after a comeback by the Chiefs and now they have the chance to get back to the Super Bowl for the second straight season Tom Brady had 302 passing yards, while Julian Edelman led the Pats with 100 receiving. Fitzgerald had eight catches for 176 yards for the Cardinals, while Palmer threw for nearly 350 yards and had three TDs in the game against the Packers.

The halftime show will feature Coldplay this year and also will have a performance from Bruno Mars, while the Associated Press reports that Beyonce will also appear. Mars previously performed as the main act at the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show. The commercials for the Super Bowl will cost $5 million for a 30-second spot and the game will have multiple new previews for films coming out over the next year.

Prediction:
Broncos and Panthers advance to Super Bowl.
Broncos win over Panthers 34-24.
