Cleveland Browns News: Hue Jackson Hired As Head Coach After Mike Pettine Fired

Jan 13, 2016 03:11 PM EST

The final decision has come through and the Cleveland Browns will have a new head coach in Hue Jackson.

Jackson was said to be deciding between the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns however staying in his former teams division is a gutsy call especially considering the state that the Browns are in. As the relocation plans were put into place apparently owner Jimmy Haslam did not attend the owners meetings in Houston because he stayed in Cleveland to finalize a deal with Jackson.

The extra effort appears to have paid off now that the Browns should have their clear coach of the future. This also will most certainly mean the end of the Manziel era in Cleveland as Jackson would like to start fresh with a new quarterback.

With Josh Gordon returning from suspension the Browns would be delighted to pair him with a top notch quarterback along with the hottest coach in the NFL this offseason. The Browns will likely try to attempt the use of analytics spearheaded by Paul DePodesta and Jackson, as he has a keen eye for star talent.

With Jackson leading the charge the Browns should look completely different in the 2016 season to what they were in 2015.
