----------------WELCOME TO THE LIVE BLOG-----------------

The first game of this Thanksgiving Day kicks off with the Detroit Lions facing the Houston Texans at 12:30 p.m. ET as fans should be in for an offensive treat.

The Lions and Texans top the ranks in offense in their own respective fields.

For Detroit it's all about passing. As for Houston what they do is run.

Matt Stafford has the No. 1 passing offense in the NFL averaging 301 aerial yards per game. Arian Foster makes the Texans' running game rumble the ground as he has rushed for 10 touchdowns and is nearing 1,000 yards once again.

In the end, fans should be in for a great game. Both teams have two of the best receivers the NFL has seen in recent years.

Andre Johnson had a huge game last week going for 273 catches and a touchdown. Some dudes don't have 273 receiving yards in the season, yet Johnson and quarterback Matt Schaub were able to do this in one day.

The other guy, Calvin Johnson, better known as Megatron, is the league's leading receiver as he and Matt Stafford have hooked up 1,117 yards.

I expect the Houston Texans to dominate this match, but it does not mean the Lions will give up without putting up a fight.

Coming into the game, the Lions are at the bottom of their standings as they play in the NFL's toughest division, the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers are back, the Chicago Bears defense has been unstoppable and the Minnesota Vikings are back to their winning ways once again

The Texans have been absolutely cruising and are currently trying to maintain their dominance as they are 9-1 coming into today's matchup.

There is no doubt that they are gearing to homefield advantage as they possess the best record in the AFC.
