Denver Broncos Rumors and News: Will Peyton Manning Need Surgery? Brock Osweiler Could Start For Playoffs If Quarterback Remains Out, Trevor Siemian Backup

Dec 22, 2015 02:43 PM EST

The Denver Broncos currently have quite a problem on their hands, the playoffs are approaching and they have no idea who their starting quarterback will be.

Brock Osweiler has been the guy since Manning has been sidelined with a foot injury. Osweiler has shown some tremendous skill in the first half of games however he completely disappears towards the second half. Osweiler also got a bit banged up in his week 15 game. The Broncos will need to decide if Peyton is healthy enough to take back the reigns from Osweiler and lead this offense into the playoffs.

After suffering a setback to his recovery on Friday, Manning may need to have surgery on his partially torn plantar fascia which would effectively end his 2015 season however give Manning a good shot at being healthy for his final run in 2016.

Manning has yet to be cleared to play so currently if something happened to Osweiler, Manning would not relieve him, he is currently still far away from practicing regularly.

The only other quarterback on the Broncos roster is Trevor Siemian and he is undoubtedly the last person the Broncos assumed would be their starting quarterback as they head into the playoffs. It still seems rather unlikely Manning will play in these last two games of the season for the Broncos.
