NY Giants Rumors and News: Eli Manning, Odell Beckham, Will Tye Fantasy Start Options, NFC East Possible, Can NY Beat Undefeated Panthers?

Dec 16, 2015 10:02 AM EST

The NY Giants are still alive in the NFC East race after winning over the Dolphins and heading into Week 15 the team has a tough test against the undefeated Carolina Panthers. The Giants had Eli Manning and Odell Beckham both put up strong numbers on Monday and they will need that again for a chance at knocking off the NFC South division champs.

The Giants won to improve to 6-7 on the season and right now New York, Washington and Philadelphia all have the same record. The Redskins are in position to control things, as they currently hold a tiebreaker over New York and they have a head-to-head matchup with the Eagles coming up. The Giants can put themselves in position to win the division if they can win their last three games, but that will be a tough task and they may need some help.

The team has the Carolina Panthers coming up first and that will be a very hard matchup with the team at 13-0 this season. The Giants will have that game at home before going on the road against Minnesota and then they will finish against the Eagles at MetLife Stadium. Cam Newton is putting up an MVP season and the Panthers look unstoppable, but the Giants do have some past experience with undefeated teams.

The Giants have the Minnesota Vikings after that and that will be no easy feat, as the team is currently in playoff position and they have one of the best running backs in the league in Adrian Peterson. The final game of the season is against the Eagles and depending on how things go with New York and Philadelphia, tis game could be meaningless or extremely important. The Eagles play the Redskins and if the Eagles and Giants both win out heading into the finale, the game will be for the NFC East division title.

The Giants defense still looked like a mess against the Dolphins, but the passing offense was strong and they will need that to have a chance at getting the division title. Beckham and Manning continued to show their strong chemistry on Monday night, as Beckham finished the game against the Dolphins with seven catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns, including one that saw Beckham keep his feet just barely inbounds to get the score.

Beckham is putting up record numbers to start his career and he now has 85 catches this season for 1320 yards and 12 touchdowns. Beckham had 91 catches for 1305 yards and 12 scores in 12 games last season and he likely will surpass all of those numbers with his stats this season. Beckham has set records with what he has done over his first two seasons and according to Pro Football Talk, he is the all-time leader in receptions for a player in their first two NFL seasons.

Also for fantasy owners in the playoffs and in need of a tight end, Will Tye is a solid option for the Giants. Tye had five catches for 30 yards and a touchdown in the game against the Dolphins.
