Monday Night Football Results: Dallas Cowboys Win Over Washington Redskins, DeSean Jackson Fumbles, NFC East Race Continues With Eagles, Giants

The Dallas Cowboys won over the Washington Redskins on Monday night football in Week 13 to stay alive in the NFC East division race. The team used a DeSean Jackson fumble to their advantage and the team now is in the mix with the Redskins, Eagles and Giants in the division standings heading into Week 14.

Dan Bailey kicked the winning field goal with nine seconds left to play and that gave the Cowboys a big win over the Redskins to improve to 4-8 on the season. While the Cowboys still have long odds to make it into the playoffs, the team needed this victory against the East-leading Redskins to even have a chance. The team plays the Redskins again this season and that gives them the opportunity to make up ground in the division.

The Cowboys received a bit of a gift with DeSean Jackson's fumble on a punt return late in the fourth quarter and that allowed Dallas to score to take the lead. Jackson later scored a touchdown to tie the game, but the Cowboys were able to get into position for the winning field goal and now they will try and keep things going next week to stay in the playoff mix. The Giants lost and the Eagles won to put both of those teams at 5-7, while the Redskins are also 5-7 and that gives the Cowboys a chance.

Matt Cassel went 16 of 29 in the game for the Cowboys for 222 yards and zero touchdowns and no interceptions and he will have to improve a bit for the Cowboys to stay in the race. Darren McFadden led the way with 53 rushing yards and a touchdown and he was the main offensive weapon against the Redskins, as Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams combined for just five catches. Bryant had an outburst in the game after some miscommunication with Cassel, but the Cowboys pulled out the win and that was the main goal for Monday night.

The Cowboys have a tough test coming up with the Packers and the team then plays the Jest, Bills and Redskins to finish the season. The Redskins have the Bears, Bills, Eagles and Cowboys and they have the chance to win the division if they can win out on the schedule.
