The Edmonton Eskimos won the Grey Cup championship title over the Ottawa Redblacks 26-20 on Sunday in Winnipeg, winning the trophy for the first time since 2005. The Eskimos won their 14th title overall after Jordan Lynch scored the winning touchdown to help complete the rally for Edmonton against Ottawa.

Edmonton quarterback Mike Reilly won the most valuable player award for the game and he completed 21-of-35 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns and zero interceptions and he also ran for 66 yards on 10 carries. Edmonton rebounded from a season in which they won four games two years ago to win the title and Ottawa made it into the Grey Cup after winning just two games last season.

Ottawa was up 13-0 early in the game before Reilly cut the lead with a 23-yard pass to Adarius Bowman. The team later went up after Reilly threw a touchdown to Akeem Shavers at the end of the half. Henry Burris had 220 passing yards on 22 of 29 completions for Ottawa.
