The NFL Thanksgiving Day schedule saw blowouts in the early games with the Philadelphia Eagles losing to the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys falling to the Carolina Panthers. The Eagles lost 45-14 against Detroit after a blowout loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday, while the Cowboys lost 33-14 to the Panthers.

The Cowboys lost more than just the game on Thursday, as quarterback Tony Romo re-injured his collarbone and could be out for the rest of the season. According to Ed Werder at ESPN.com, Romo suffered another fracture on the same shoulder he injured earlier in the season and sources report that he could be out for the rest of the year. Werder reports that the bone is "most likely" fractured and that Romo has a "slim chance" to play again this season.

Romo was placed on IR with designation to return earlier in the season and he returned against the Dolphins, helping the Cowboys snap a seven game losing streak. Matt Cassel came in for Romo and completed 13-of-19 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown and now he likely will start in place of Romo. Romo had three interceptions in the game against the Lions and he came into the game with five touchdowns and four picks on the season.

The Panthers are now 11-0 on the season after the win over the Cowboys and the team jumped up early with interception returns for touchdowns from Luke Kuechly and Kurt Coleman. The Panthers have now won 15 straight games and they are in control of the NFC South division. The Cowboys are now 3-8 on the season and the team has lost eight of nine games.

The Detroit Lions dominated the Philadelphia Eagles and won 45-14 on Thanksgiving after a strong game from Matthew Stafford. Calvin Johnson had three touchdown catches and Stafford threw five touchdown passes in the game and went 27 of 38 completions for 337 yards. Johnson tied a career high with three touchdown catches and he had eight receptions for 93 yards in the game, The Lions are now 4-7 and they have shown some improvement after making coordinator and front office changes this year.

Mark Sanchez started for the Eagles with Sam Bradford injured and he completed 19 of 27 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns, including a late score to Jordan Matthews. The Detroit defense was dominant and did not give Sanchez much time to get into a groove. The Eagles did not score in the first and third quarters of the game and now Philadelphia has lost three straight games.
