The NY Rangers and Boston Bruins are playing on the NHL schedule on Friday after the Thanksgiving Day holiday. The game is on NBC at 1 pm ET and will be at TD Garden as the Rangers try and rebound from a tough loss in an Original Six matchup.

The Rangers have been one of the hottest teams in hockey over the past couple weeks and they come in after one of their worst losses of the season. The team lost 5-1 to Canadiens and Montreal has been the other team in the east off to a hot start. The Rangers will be motivated to bounce back after a bad loss and the Bruins come in with 25 points after an overtime win against the Red Wings.

The Rangers will play the Flyers next on Saturday after the Bruins game and the team comes in with a 16-4-2 record this season. The Rangers are ranked in the top 10 in goals per game and goals against this season and Henrik Lundqvist has been playing at an MVP level. The team did not get a great performance against Montreal and head coach Alain Vigneault said the Rangers will move forward after the tough defeat.

The Bruins come in with the Oilers next on the schedule and the team is currently third in the Atlantic division. The team ranks third in goals per game in the NHL this season and they are first overall in power play percentage. The team is 24th in goals against per game, while the penalty kill is ranked 27th in the league.

The Rangers held a bit in the game against the Canadiens before the third period when Montreal scored three goals and put it out of reach. Lundqvist has not allowed five goals in a game in his last 45 starts and after the game he said to reporters that he was disappointed with the performance. The Rangers had only lost once in the past 12 games and the team has only won twice in the past 11 against Montreal.

The Rangers come into the game against the Bruins having lost four of five of the past six overall to Boston and they will try and turn those fortunes around on Friday. Rick Nash had another goal and he has been on a scoring streak lately. Nash now has five goals over the last three games, giving him seven on the season after scoring just two after 17 games to start the season. This will be the second Original Six matchup for the Rangers in as many games after playing the Canadiens.
