Montreal got off to a historic start this season and they are currently leading the Atlantic division with 34 points over the Ottawa Senators. Montreal is 9-2-1 at home this season and they have gone 6-2-2 over their last 10 games to improve to 16-4-2 and they are tied with 34 points with the Rangers atop the Eastern conference standings. The Senators are second in the division with 25 points this season, while Detroit has 24 points.
The bottom half of the Atlantic division has the Boston Bruins next with 23 points, while the Tampa Bay Lightning also have 23 points this year. The Florida Panthers have 20 points and they are leading the Toronto Maple Leafs (19 points) and the Buffalo Sabres (18 points) in the standings. The Rangers are leading the Metropolitan division this season and the team has 34 points this season with a 16-3-2 record overall. Henrik Lundqvist has been playing at an MVP level and the team has been very hot, going 9-1-0 over the last 10 games.
The Rangers are leading the Capitals in the division standings, as Washington has 29 points with 14 wins this season. Pittsburgh comes in at third in the division standings with 12 wins and 24 points, while the New Jersey Devils are next with 23 points this season. The NY Islanders have 23 points and 10 wins this season and they are ahead of the Flyers in the standings. The Pacific division has the San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings leading with 26 points, while the Vancouver Canucks have 22 points this season. The Arizona Coyotes are next in the standings with 21 points, while the Anaheim Ducks have 18 points. The bottom two teams have the Flames and the Oilers with 17 points and 15 points. It's also a bit early for this, but the current wild card teams in the East and West are the Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks.
