Denver Broncos Rumors: CJ Anderson, Ronnie Hillman Split Carries Week 9, Vernon Davis Fantasy Starter with Demaryius Thomas for Peyton Manning

Vernon Davis has gone from one of the worst teams in the NFL to one of the best as the tight end looks to get to the Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos. The question is what his impact will be with the team as his numbers were not good in San Francisco. Officially joining the team for practice and expected to play in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts, Davis is expected to be a fantasy star for the team in need of another offensive weapon.

According to Davis, his dip in stats this season were the fault of the 49ers and not his own. It has not been a secret that Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers are not having the season they were hoping for and Davis blames the downfall of the team for his own struggles.

"Everyone's asking that question, where did I go? Where did I go? Where did I go?'' Davis said, via ESPN.com. "San Francisco, look at the year when I started to drop off, what happened to the team? What happened to the team? They started to fall, there were so many things going on, so much turmoil. No one really excelled, no one really had success because the team, we didn't have success. If the team's not having success, chances are I'm not going to have success."

The addition of Davis allows head coach Gary Kubiak to run the offense that he has traditionally favored. The tight end position as been struggling in Denver as Owen Daniels and Virgil Green have not put up the numbers Julius Thomas did. Davis could change that while helping open up the offense for Manning and company. While the passing game is no longer a question for the Broncos, the run game is.

The Broncos have been trying to figure out who their leading back is but neither Ronnie Hillman nor CJ Anderson can find any kind of consistency on the ground. Anderson was the better back in Week 8 while Hillman leads the team with 383 yards and four touchdowns. According to the Denver Post, Anderson will be the starter in Week 9, but it is a real possibility that Hillman ends up having the better game. That inconsistency in the run game has been stalling the offense out for Manning and Kubiak admits that he is not happy with the production the rushers have been getting.

"Obviously it was C.J.'s best game," Kubiak said, via the Denver Post. "I don't know why that was, motivation or whatever. He should be motivated every week, but we're going to create a competitive environment between both of them. We're going to need them both. We'll continue to split time with them, but obviously C.J. responded this week. Hopefully we can keep it going in that direction."
