Buffalo Bills Rumors: Percy Harvin Out, Sammy Watkins, Karlos Williams, Tyrod Taylor Return Week 9? LeSean McCoy, Robert Woods Fantasy Options

Nov 02, 2015 11:24 AM EST

The Buffalo Bills have been dealing with a number of injuries and coming into Week 9 there is a chance that Sammy Watkins, Karlos Williams and Tyrod Taylor return to play against the Dolphins. Percy Harvin likely will remain out with a hip injury, but reports have the team hopeful that they will get back players from injury after having a bye in Week 8.

The Bills played the Jaguars in London and had a bye in Week 8 and now they come into a divisional game in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins. EJ Manuel started the game for the Bills in London, while Percy Harvin, Karlos Williams and Sammy Watkins were all out for the game. According to the Buffalo News, head coach Rex Ryan said that he is "confident" that Taylor will be back to start for Week 9 after dealing with a knee sprain.

Manuel struggled in London and while Taylor has had his issues this season, he has been more consistent at quarterback than Manuel. The offense has been dealing with a number of injuries and Ryan is hoping that the bye week has given those players enough time to heal up. Williams could return from a concussion for Week 9, while Watkins could be back after suffering an ankle injury a couple weeks ago. Percy Harvin is dealing with a serious hip issue and his return could be up in the air.

According to Pro Football Talk, Harvin and his status moving forward for the Bills "remains unclear," as the wide receiver is dealing with a serious hip issue and was inactive in Week Seven against the Jaguars. The report says that Harvin has been frustrated and that there were reports that he was considering retirement over the injury. Harvin later came out and refuted that, while Rand Getlin at NFL.com reports that Harvin "has met with Bills" and is talking with the team about the extent of his injury and a potential return date. UPDATE: Rex Ryan said that Harvin wants to play and is working on getting back for the Bills.

Karlos Williams has been a solid backup this season for LeSean McCoy, but he has been banged up and he also was out against the Jaguars in Week 7. Williams has not played since Week 4 while dealing with a concussion and general manager Doug Whaley said that the running back is "making progress" and could be back for Week 9, according to ESPN.com.

Watkins has been dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered in Week 6 and that injury kept him off the field in Week 7. According to ESPN.com, there is a chance that Watkins will return for the Bills in Week 8, but the team wants to see if he is able to practice this week. Watkins has been dealing with injuries this season and has 11 catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns in four games.

Even if Watkins returns, Robert Woods could be a solid fantasy option for owners this week, as Harvin remains out and Watkins could be limited if he plays. Woods is coming in after having his best game of the season and he ended up with nine catches on 13 targets for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Jaguars.
