The Dallas Mavericks are hoping that Chandler Parsons can make his season debut this weekend when the Mavs take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. Deron Williams is dealing with a knee injury and it is not considered too serious, but the point guard does not have a set date to return after playing against the Suns.

The Mavericks have Parsons coming back from knee surgery this offseason and he is hoping to make his debut soon. According to Yahoo Sports, the team and Parsons are targeting Sunday against the Lakers as the return date. Last season Parsons averaged 15 points and five rebounds for the Mavericks and he has been one of the players that have energized the offense for Dallas along with Dirk Nowitzki. The team is hoping to have both Williams and Parsons in the lineup on Sunday. Parsons played in 66 games last season.

Williams is dealing with an injury and Wesley Matthews remains banged up, while the team is also hopeful that JaVale McGee can play soon. Williams came into the Clippers game questionable after suffering a knee injury against the Suns and if he is out for a stretch, expect J.J. Barea and Raymond Felton to get extended minutes.

According to ESPN Dallas, Rick Carlisle said that the injury is not serious and while he doesn't have a return date, the team doesn't expect to be a lingering injury. Earl K. Sneed at Mavs.com writes that there is a "growing hope" that Williams plays on Sunday against the Lakers. Last season Williams played in 68 games for the Nets and he has dealt with injuries over the past couple seasons.
