New York Mets vs. Kansas City Royals Live Stream: Watch Online World Series Game Streaming MLB Playoffs

Oct 27, 2015 07:53 PM EDT

The New York Mets and Kansas City Royals are set for the World Series with Game 1 and Game 2 coming from KC at Kauffman Stadium with TV coverage and live stream work from Fox Sports. The Mets have Matt Harvey going up against Edinson Volquez in the first game as the Fall Classic 2015 gets underway with some rain in the forecast.

The Mets come into the series after winning in four games against the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS and this is their first World Series appearance since back in 2000 against the Yankees. The Mets last won the title in 1986 and that came just after the Royals won their only title. The Royals made it to the World Series last season and lost to the Giants and their last win was back in the 80s as well.

The Royals were the top team in the American League and the home field advantage works out this year, as the AL won the All-Star game and KC had a better record than the Mets, although that is not the factor determining home field anymore. The Royals won over the Toronto Blue Jays in six games to advance to the World Series and after losing in seven games last season, the team will try and turn things a different way against the Mets.

The Mets have the hardest throwing rotation in the majors and they know how to strike people out, while the Royals are one of the teams that strikes out the least. That matchup between the Mets pitching and the Royals hitting could be the deciding factor in this series, as the Royals like to make contact early and often and that cuts down on the K's from opposing pitchers.

The Royals will have their work cut out for themselves though, as Matt Harvey will take the ball in Game 1 before Jacob deGrom pitches in Game 2. Johnny Cueto will pitch against deGrom and the Royals are hoping the home crowd can fire up Cueto, as he was worked bad against the Blue Jays on the road in the last series. Ned Yost said he hopes that Cueto can get some energy from the crowd and he will have support compared to the "Cueto, Cueto" chants he got in Toronto, which clearly rattled him a bit.

Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz will pitch the next two games for the Mets and Harvey will have the ball again if needed in Game 5 at Citi Field. The weather forecast for Game 1 has some rain on schedule for around 8 pm ET, but the weather service reports that it should stop and it is not expected to be a serious downpour.
