Dallas Cowboys Rumors and News: Team Looking To Extend Greg Hardy Long Term On Contract Despite Outburst?

Oct 27, 2015 04:59 PM EDT

Amidst the reports of Greg Hardy yelling at special team's coaches and being extremely volatile for this team the Cowboys are taking a different approach.

To the media they see a man who is aggressive and dangerous but to the Cowboys they see a passionate leader who has made some mistakes but is grateful for his second chance. The Cowboys are closest to the situation so for the media to assume Hardy is missing practices and running wild is very irresponsible.

Hardy missed a practice last week that was due to an illness he had, he called the head athletic trainer and told him about his condition before he was advised to stay home. Hardy's flare up at special team's coordinator Rich Bisaccia will not warrant any punishment, you know why?

Because Hardy felt the same way the entire Cowboys franchise felt when they gave up 100 yard touchdown return to former Cowboy Dwayne Harris. Special teams has been awful for the Cowboys all season and that along with Beasley's botched kick returned are just two of the reasons one of the Cowboys most productive defenders was mad at the special teams.

Now with that cleared up, Jerry Jones recently stated his interest in resigning Hardy to a long term deal. Both sides are reportedly interested however the Cowboys are likely to make this an incentive heavy contract to keep Hardy out of trouble. In two games with the Cowboys Hardy has racked up 3 sacks and a forced fumble that kind of production you do not let get away.
