World Series TV Schedule: NY Mets and Kansas City Royals Start Time, Live Coverage Game 1 From Fox

Oct 27, 2015 04:52 PM EDT

The World Series 2015 schedule is set with the Kansas City Royals hosting the New York Mets for Game 1 on Tuesday from Kauffman Stadium. The games are set for first pitch at 8:07 pm ET and television coverage will be from Fox with Joe Buck, Tom Verducci and Harold Reynolds in the broadcast booth.

The Mets have their rotation set and they will have Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard starting the first three games. Game 2 of the series will be on Wednesday, October 28 and that game also will be from Kauffman Stadium. Citi Field will have Game 3 of the series and that comes on Friday, October 30 and Steven Matz will be on the mound for Game 4 on Saturday.

Game 5 (if necessary) will be at Citi Field and the game will have first pitch at 8:15 pm ET on Sunday, November 1 from Citi Field. The final two games of the series if needed will be from Kauffman Stadium with Game 6 coming on Tuesday, November 3 and Game 7 on Wednesday, November 4. The Mets advanced to the World Series after winning the NLCS over the Chicago Cubs, while the Royals advanced in the ALCS over the Blue Jays.

The Mets are in the World Series for the fourth time in their team history and the first time since the team played against the Yankees in 2000. The team last won in 1986 and they also won the series in 1969. The Royals won the World Series back in 1985 and they made it last year against the San Francisco Giants, where they lost in seven games.

The Mets rotation is set for the first four games of the series and the pitching has been fantastic in the playoffs with the starters putting up a 2.65 ERA with 69 strikeouts in 54 innings this postseason. The Mets have Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz as their main starters, while the Royals have Yordano Ventura, Johnny Cueto, Chris Young and Edinson Volquez.

The Mets and Royals both have a mix of young players and veterans and the main battle in this series could be the pitching for New York against the deep lineup of Kansas City. Johnny Cueto will start Game 2 and that means he will be slotted for Game 6 if needed. Ned Yost said that Cueto feeds off the home crowd and after the way things went in Toronto, the Royals realize they have to get Cueto going and pitching at home could be the key.
