Indianapolis Colts Rumors: Andrew Luck Struggles, Chuck Pagano Fired This Season? Phillip Dorsett Suffers Injury, TY Hilton Strong Fantasy Starter

Oct 26, 2015 02:13 PM EDT

The Indianapolis Colts and Andrew Luck have struggled this season and there is a chance that Chuck Pagano could be fired if the team continues to perform as they have in 2015. The Colts lost Sunday to the Saints and the team saw rookie wideout Phillip Dorsett fracture his ankle, while TY Hilton had one of the best fantasy performances of the weekend.

The Colts have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season and while the team is leading the AFC South division, it's mostly because the other teams in the division are simply not good right now. The Colts were down big against the Saints 27-0 at one point and while they were able to come back to cut the lead, it wasn't enough to win. Luck has continued to struggle this season and he said that he is "not happy" with how he has been playing, according to Pro Football Talk.

Overall, Luck has not played up to expectations this season and he has been turning the ball over at a high rate. Last year Luck had 16 interceptions, but he also had 40 touchdowns and this season he is off that pace with 11 touchdowns in five games. Luck missed time with a shoulder injury and while his stats looked okay by the end against the Saints, it was more about the Colts coming back and throwing the ball a ton in the second half.

Luck had only completed nine of his 19 passes in the first half and he finished the game with 23 completions on 44 passes for 333 yards. Luck had three touchdowns and two interceptions and things will not be getting easier next week, as the Colts are playing the undefeated Panthers for Monday night football. Luck is completing just 56 percent of his passes and if that holds up it will be his lowest rate since he was a rookie.

The Colts struggles could cost Chuck Pagano his job, as there have been reports since earlier in the year that if the team doesn't make some progress the coach could be fired. According to Pro Football Talk, there have been "plenty of rumors and reports and speculation about the future" of Pagano and if the Colts lose again next week, there is a chance owner Jim Irsay could make a move. There have been reports about tension between GM Ryan Grigson and Pagano and if that continues, there could be some major changes at the top for Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Star reports that there was a "heated conversation" between owner Jim Irsay and Grigson following the game on Sunday and that could mean that Grigson is also on the hot seat. Some of Grigson's moves have not worked out as planned, as the offensive line has been struggling, Andre Johnson has not done that much and both Trent Cole and Todd Herremans have been disappointing.

Irsay could fire Pagano over Grigson after the way the team has struggled, but there always is a chance he could fire both by the end of the season. Grigson drafted Phillip Dorsett in the first round of the draft this year and now Dorsett could potentially be out over a month with a fractured ankle injury, according to ESPN.com.
