San Diego Chargers

Keenan Allen (Wide Receiver): Allen could have a great game on Sunday if this turns into a shootout, Green Bay has given up the 3rd fewest fantasy points in the NFL. Allen will be the main wide receiver in this offense as Stevie Johnson recovers from a hamstring injury, but Antonio Gates and Ladarius Green have shown how effective they can be in two tight end sets. It is possible that Allen loses some targets to the Chargers tight ends.

Antonio Gates/Ladarius Green (Tight End): Gates had a monstrous return as he came back from suspension and nearly lead the Chargers to victory. Green also had a big game and converting several necessary first downs. The duo will be heavily active again as they will be the main receiving threats for the Chargers with all of the injuries to their wide receivers. Gates and Green are going up against a defense that has allowed the 15th fewest fantasy points to tight ends.

Melvin Gordon/Danny Woodhead (Running Back): Melvin Gordon is averaging around 15 carries a game which should continue but he is only averaging less than double digit points a week. Green bay is allowing 5.0 yards per carry however they can be very stout against average NFL running backs. Woodhead on the other hand is averaging less than 10 carries a game and averages more than 10 points a game. Woodhead should see the field more as he will be the predominant back utilized during passing downs.

Philip Rivers (Quarterback): Rivers has had a pretty decent fantasy average for the year, he only dipped below double digit points one time and averages around 250+ yards a game. He has 5 more touchdowns than he does interceptions but will face a Green Bay defense that is getting better as the season goes along. Rivers is a low end QB1.

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers (Quarterback): Aaron Rodgers had 2 picks last week and he still had around 20 points. Rodgers is an absolute monster but this is another bad matchup against a pretty decent secondary. The Packers should lean on the ground game for much of this game as Lacy's ankle appears to be fully healed. Rodgers is a QB1 every week.

Eddie Lacy (Running Back): Lacy should have his biggest game of the season so far against this porous San Diego run defense. I would be surprised if Lacy had less than 15 fantasy points in this game.

Randall Cobb/James Jones/Ty Montgomery (Wide Receivers): Cobb had 6 targets last week as he put up another fantasy dud. Cobb is great when he is 100 percent healthy and Aaron Rodgers is throwing to him, that itself is great, but the problem with Cobb's production from a fantasy stand point is that it is not consistent enough to warrant his value. Jones has come in and shaken up the main notion of what pre fantasy draft analysts thought would be the standard game plan in Green Bay. Now Jones will be a main target every week looking to steal Cobb's touchdowns. Ty Montgomery is not a factor yet nor should he be until another injury occurs. All of this plus the fact that San Diego has given up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
