The Buffalo Bills expected big things from running back LeSean McCoy however his early season injuries have hindered his production.

A hamstring injury took away a lot of his explosiveness and that became apparent in his week 3 matchup with the Miami Dolphins. Then as week 4 approached the drama began to build as head coach of the Buffalo Bills Rex Ryan scoffed at the idea of resting McCoy due to his nagging injuries however appeared to change his tune throughout the middle of the week when it became apparent that McCoy was struggling. McCoy missed practiced on Friday and announced that he would not play until he was 100 percent again.

McCoy had an MRI on his hamstring that has shown a new tear in his hamstring. This new tear is concerning considering this could mean a 3 to 4 week absence which will mean rookie Karlos Williams should get some extended time starting for the Bills.

The Bills will need LeSean McCoy on the field sooner rather than later as they struggled to run the ball against the New York Giants in week 4. McCoy's backup Williams struggled to gain any yards on the ground with his longest gain coming from an 11 yard rush. The Bills will try to keep pace in the strong looking AFC East without McCoy for games against the Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
