Yoenis Cespedes #52 of the New York Mets is assisted off the field after getting hit by a pitch in the third inning during the game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on September 30, 2015 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. "

The NY Mets saw outfielder Yoenis Cespedes go down with a hand injury on Wednesday night, but the x-rays came back negative, according to a report from ESPN. The Philadelphia Phillies and the Mets played a tense game and a number of players were hit by pitches, including Cespedes, who took a ball to his left hand.

Cespedes checked a swing and was hit by a pitch, but ESPN reports that x-rays on his hand came back negative and that means he should be fine for the playoffs. Cespedes was hit in the third inning of the 7-5 loss and the team later announced that Cespedes suffered bruises on his hand. Cespedes has bruises on multiple fingers, but no fractures and after the game he said he was "relieved" that the x-rays were negative.

Cespedes said that he would be fine to play on Thursday if needed, but the Mets are likely planning to be cautious with the outfielder. The team has clinched the division and they are battling for home field for the National League Division Series with the Dodgers. Cespedes has been the key for the Mets in the second half, as he has put up some staggering numbers since he was acquired at the trade deadline.

Cespedes has hit 17 home runs and driven in 44 runs for the Mets and is hitting .287 since coming over. This season he has put up great overall numbers and he is one of the top reasons the Mets are division winners.
