The WNBA Finals for 2015 has the Indiana Fever taking on the Minnesota Lynx and the championship series will start on Sunday. The Fever won in three games over the New York Liberty, while the Lynx won over the Phoenix Mercury to win the western conference title.

The Fever forced a Game 2 matchup after losing in Game 1 and they were able to win over a number one seeded Liberty team to advance to the finals. The Fever won 66-51 against the Liberty at Madison Square Garden and took the series 2-1 with 14 points from Tamika Catchings. The finals will open in Minnesota for the first game and Indiana returns to the championship series for the first time since the 2012 season, which is when the Fever won the title.

The Liberty were the number one seeded team in the east this season and after winning Game 1, the team could not finishing things off on the road in Game 2. The Fever came back in that game and won by six and on Tuesday the team held back New York enough to get the clinching victory. The Liberty rallied after falling behind early, but it wasn't enough to get the comeback win. The Liberty have not been to the finals since back in 2002 and they are 0-4 in previous championship series.

Minnesota advanced over Phoenix in a two game sweep after winning 72-71 on Sunday to advance out of the western conference. Maya Moore helped get the team through with 40 points in the game and now Minnesota has been to the finals four times in five seasons. The Lynx previously won the title in 2011 and 2013 and now they have the chance for another odd-year title.

The WNBA finals starts on Sunday, October 4 and the TV coverage will be from ABC for the Game 1 matchup. The Game 2 coverage will be on ESPN2 and that game is on Tuesday, October 6. Game 3 is on schedule for Friday, October 9 and that game also will be on ESPN2.
