Drew Brees #9 of the New Orleans Saints is sacked by Gerald McCoy #93 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the first quarter of a game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on September 20, 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana."

Drew Brees was ruled out for week 3 which has sent this New Orleans offense into a tailspin.

The Saints are 0-2 and which means they will need Luke McCown to have the best game of his career against an aggressive Carolina defense. The Saints offense was not running as smoothly as it did in the Jimmy Graham era and Brees and Cooks have been slow to create chemistry. Cooks was also suffering from a couple of minor injuries entering this week 3 competition.

It will be important for these Saints wide receivers to be very productive in this game so Luke McCown can stand a chance against this Carolina pass rush. The Saints offensive line will need to protect McCown when they have failed to do that for Brees for the past two games. The Saints offense will need to mesh quickly as Brees could potentially be out for a couple of weeks.

The Saints may approach the situation as the perfect opportunity to show off their deep run game. With CJ Spiller coming back from injury, in addition to Khiry Robinson and Mark Ingram the Saints have 3 running backs that can be playmakers if there line creates enough space. The Saints have a chance to pull off the upset with their backup quarterback but they will be facing a Carolina defense without Luke Kuechly.
