Thursday Night Football Schedule: Start Time, TV Channel For NY Giants and Washington Redskins Live Stream Coverage Week 3

Sep 24, 2015 04:37 PM EDT

The Thursday night football schedule continues in Week 3 with the NY Giants and Washington Redskins and the game is on TV from the NFL Network and CBS channel starting at 8:25 pm ET from MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The game has live coverage online and from the radio as Eli Manning tries to save Big Blue from an 0-3 start against Kirk Cousins and Washington in an NFC East battle.

The Giants are in an 0-2 hole, but a win on Thursday could change everything for this season, as the team had chances to be 2-0 at this point. The division is a mess, as the Cowboys are 2-0 but have major injuries, while the Eagles are 0-2 and the Redskins, well, are the Redskins. Washington won last week against the Rams and looked good so they should not be dismissed, but with Kirk Cousins, RG3 and Jay Gruden dealing with uncertainty in the future, the Giants should finish better than the Redskins this season.

That is no guarantee in the wildly unpredictable NFL and a loss here to go 0-3 would be devastating for the Giants. The team had a win in the bag against the Cowboys before blowing it in Week 1 and the team basically coughed up another win against the Falcons in Week 2. Eli Manning has been good when he has been good, but terrible when he has been terrible and those bad moments are why the team has two losses now.

The Giants are playing without Victor Cruz, but they could have Jon Beason back and that would be a big help for a defense that has struggled this season. The Giants offense could be a great one, as they have Manning, Odell Beckham and they are three deep at RB with Rashad Jennings, Andre Williams and Shane Vereen. The Redskins offense looked solid last week with Alfred Morris and Matt Jones rushing the ball and that could be the focus this week to take some pressure off of Kirk Cousins.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is also dealing with an injury and that is another tough hit for the Giants defense. This season Morris and Matt Jones have split carries and while Morris has more yards, it's not by much and Jones has two touchdowns already while Morris has zero. The team is strong at RB and with Cousins playing well enough last week, the team could push that again. Beckham was the best player for the Giants last week and he likely will need to do that again with Cruz not in the lineup.

The game is on TV from CBS and on the NFL Network and the regular CBS crew is handling the announcing from East Rutherford with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms on the call. The Giants have the Bills, 49ers, Eagles and Cowboys next on the schedule, so this game is a near must win for the team at 0-2.
