49ers Rumors: Carlos Hyde, Reggie Bush Fantasy Busts Week 3? Colin Kaepernick Favors Vernon Davis, Anquan Boldin After Torrey Smith, Vance McDonald Injuries

The San Francisco 49ers are working to build up some momentum after a tough Week 2 loss. The team appeared to take a slight step back as injuries are now an issue for the offense. Carlos Hyde returned to practice along with Torrey Smith while Reggie Bush still remains a mystery. After getting carted off the field in Week 1, Bush is still listed as uncertain for Week 3 despite remaining hopeful that he will play.

Bush told the media that while he is not practicing, the plan is to still play against the Arizona Cardinals. The running back has been waiting to make his impact with the team as he remains hopeful it will come Sunday.

"That's the plan," Bush said, via CSNBayArea.com. "There's nothing I could've done there, other than go out and get myself injured again. But it's making strides. It's a day-to-day thing right now. I'm just happy it wasn't something more serious than it felt like when it first happened. Every day I'm just trying to make bigger and bigger strides so I can get on the field on Sunday."

The return of Bush could be good for the 49ers run game that struggled against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After a breakout game in the season opener, Carlos Hyde was more subdued against the Vikings. The running back is facing a tough fantasy matchup this week with the aggressive Cardinals defensive front. He will be the starter if Bush is healthy or not, but the veteran could be favored working as a passing-down back for quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The 49ers still have some issues with injuries. Vance McDonald and Bruce Ellington have been limited with issues. That will push Vernon Davis and Smith to the forefront again with Anquan Boldin. Kaepernick has looked much better in the passing game this season and he credits the coaching style of Jim Tomsula.

"I would say the biggest thing is I'm being asked to be myself this year, and I don't think anyone knows how to be myself better than me," Kaepernick said, via the Sacramento Bee. "So it's a comfort zone for me. It's a situation where I'm not being asked to do things outside of my character."

Kaepernick will have to push the passing game this week against the Cardinals who have one of the best defenses in the league. It is a tough matchup for the quarterback, but a chance for him to show big improvement.
