Miami Dolphins Rumors: Lamar Miller Injury Makes Damien Williams Starter Week 3? Jordan Cameron Hurt as Ryan Tannehill Pushes Jarvis Landry, Rishard Matthews Help

The Miami Dolphins are hoping for improvement in 2015 as the team has been pegged as an early contender for the playoffs. They looked the part in Week 1, but not in Week 2 as injuries begin to rack up causing Miami to dig into their roster depth for help. After Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, several players are on the injury report and questionable for Week 3.

The biggest concern for the Dolphins is the health of Lamar Miller. The running back suffered an ankle injury in the game against the Jaguars. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the running back told the media after the game, "I'll be alright" but there is growing concern that might not be the case. Miller did not have an MRI after the injury, but is predicted to have a sprain which could hold him back whether he is active for Week 3 or not.

Miller has not been every effective so far this season which is hurting the Dolphins' offense. The team opted to move forward with Miller as their starter and Damien Williams as the backup. Rookie Jay Ajayi suffered a cracked rib and has yet to play in a game. The Dolphins need the run game to improve and an injury to Miller could force a roster addition. For now, the team has activated Jonas Gray from the practice squad.

The Dolphins have been relying on the passing game through the first two games. Ryan Tannehill is looking like a much improved quarterback, but the unbalanced offense is hurting drives from extending. Jarvis Landry continues as the top threat for Tannehill, while Rishard Matthews is enjoying a breakout performance as Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker start the year off slow. Jordan Cameron has also been looking good, but the tight end is another player listed as doubtful in Week 3.

According to the Miami Sun Sentinel, Cameron suffered a groin injury in the loss on Sunday and was limited in practice as a result. Right now the tight end has been one of the most productive players on the offense with seven catches for 135 yards. Not having him on the field would be a big loss for the Dolphins. Miami is preparing to go up against the Buffalo Bills with a very physical front seven on defense. The running game could struggle once again which means Tannehill needs as many healthy receiving options as possible.
