Javier Hernandez did his performance on the pitch do all the talking after being put on the back burner for much of the season - scoring two well-taken goals to help Manchester United to a 3-2 victory over Braga in the Champions League at Old Trafford Tuesday.

Hernandez has been forced to sit on the bench for the majority of United's games this campaign after the arrival of Robin Van Persie, making him Ferguson's fourth-choice striker. The United manager admitted he was now facing a dilemma of whom to start with after Wayne Rooney, Van Persie and Danny Welbeck all scored in the 4-2 victory over Stoke last Saturday.

Hernandez, however, is not too worried about selection issues, instead focusing on his performance whenever handed a chance. "No, (I have) nothing (to prove)," he told ITV Sport. "I always say I enjoy it a lot here.

"I have been ready since the start of the season and when the gaffer gives me my chance, I have to do my best. If I score it's good. But if I don't score the most important thing is the team.

"The most important thing is the three points, not who the heroes are."

Hernandez is at his best when playing with wide players, or teammates that are capable of providing good crosses - perfectly captured by the two goals scored against Braga. Asked if playing a narrow diamond formation, which doesn't allow for much of the wide players to express themselves, was hampering his chances, Hernandez reiterated he was happy to play, however and wherever the manager wanted him to.

"Which is the best formation is a question for the gaffer," he said. "As a player I need to do my best on the pitch. It doesn't matter which position I'm in or which formation he plays. As players we need to follow the things that the gaffer says to us."

The Mexican international striker now wants to carry the momentum to the crunch game against Chelsea on Sunday. "We knew the importance of this game, but the start was bad for us to be honest, conceding two goals at home," he added. "But happily we scored three and now we can look forward to the next game which is another very important one against Chelsea."
