The MLB season has about a month left and the playoffs are right around the corner, so here is a look at where the races are headed and some predictions the World Series and for teams in the postseason that could make it like the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Cubs, Pirates and Nationals.

The American League East race is still tight heading into September and the Blue Jays have a slight edge over the Yankees. The team has been going on a torrid stretch and they previously went on a run where they won 20 out of 25 games and they are looking to end a playoff drought. The Blue Jays added David Price and Troy Tulowitzki at the trade deadline and they have helped the team push ahead of the Yankees for the time being.

Prediction: Blue Jays win American League East division title, Yankees make it as AL Wild Card

The AL Central race is basically over already, as the Kansas City Royals are double digit games up over the Minnesota Twins. Prediction: Royals take the Central.

The AL West has the Houston Astros in the lead still after being the surprising team of 2015 and they have a solid lead over the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels. The Astros have been the most consistent in the west and unless they falter, they should be able to hang onto the division lead. The Rangers and the Angels are obviously still alive for the division, but the wild card is the best bet.

Prediction: Astros win the division, Angels and Rangers duke it out for the wild card, with the Angels making it as the second AL team.

The National League East has the NY Mets in the lead over the Washington Nationals and the way they are playing gives them a good chance to make the playoffs. The Nationals have been slumping a bit and they have been inconsistent this season and if they don't catch fire soon, they will not be able to catch the Mets. The Mets have the pitching to be a contender in the NL and they upgraded their offense with Yoenis Cespedes, Kelly Johnson and Juan Uribe at the trade deadline.

Prediction: Mets win NL East division, Nationals don't even make the playoffs.

The NL Central has been the best division in baseball this season and it's very likely that the Cardinals, Pirates and Cubs will be in the playoffs. The Cardinals are leading the division and have been the best team in baseball for most of the season, while the Cubs and Pirates are in wild card position. The Pirates are in the first spot and have a nice lead, while the Cubs are trying to hold off the Giants and Nats.

Prediction: Things hold, the Cardinals win the division, the Cubs and Pirates are the NL Wild Card teams.

The NL West is still up for grabs and right now the Dodgers are leading the Giants by a few games heading into September. Prediction: Dodgers hold on for the division.
