Pittsburgh Steelers transcendent wide receiver Martavis Bryant has been suspended for 4 games however he is appealing the leagues decision.
The suspension comes after several positive drug tests for marijuana. Bryant was viewed as the Steelers number 2 wide receiver going into the season however Ben Roethlisberger declared that sophomore Markus Wheaton was destined to have a breakout year.
Bryant was high on fantasy draft boards but without a reduced suspension his ADP will dip considerably.
Bryant was drafted in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft and in his rookie season caught 26 passes for 549 yards averaging 21.1 yards a catch. He ended the year with 8 touchdowns severely besting his competition, Markus Wheaton. Bryant is not the only offensive weapon suspended for the first few games, star running back Le'Veon Bell has also been suspended for marijuana use but had his suspension reduced from 3 games to two.
The Steelers are going to be struggling for some offensive potency early on as rookie wide receiver; Sammie Coates looks to earn some trust with his coach's right out of the gate. With Bryant's suspension it is likely that Coates will line up as the third wide receiver in the first team offense. He may have some competition with Darrius Heyward-Bey lurking from the fourth wide receiver slot.
