San Francisco 49ers Rumors and News: Ahmad Brooks Indicted On Charges, Another Starter Down For Niners This Season?

Aug 27, 2015 01:24 PM EDT

The San Francisco 49ers continues to crumble as the regular season approaches.

49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks was charged with misdemeanor sexual battery while former 49er Ray McDonald has been indicted on one count of rape of an intoxicated person. McDonald will never play football again and can easily spend 8 years of his life behind bars however the 49ers current linebacker Ahmad Brooks could spend up to 6 months behind bars. The 49ers released a statement saying,

"The organization is aware that a misdemeanor charge has been filed against Ahmad Brooks stemming from a December 2014 matter. We take any charge against a member of this organization seriously and are in communication with the NFL. Ahmad is returning home to California and will not participate in Saturday's game,"

The alleged incident has apparently been recorded on camera so the evidence and blow back could be pretty harsh. McDonald was signed to a one year deal with the Bears but was soon released. He has had multiple off the field incidents most of which alone would be worthy of being removed from the NFL or at the very least suspended. Brooks however had cleaned up his act and was hoping for a fresh start, this most certainly will not help.
