The New York Knicks are once again lingering around the trade block as they continue to eye adjustments to the roster before the 2015-16 season begins. The team has been linked to several deals, but has yet to really pull the trigger on negotiations. With doubt remaining in several position groups at this point in free agency, the Knicks are looking for ways to help as they once again get linked to a marquee trade deal.

According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, the Knicks are looking at a trade for Jamal Crawford as he is a favorite of owner James Dolan and Steve Mills. Isola reports that Crawford's relationship with the Knicks is playing a big role in the team's interest for him as the Los Angeles Clippers continue to seek a trade of the reserve before the season begins. The Clippers loaded up on reserves this season which has made Crawford expendable and the Knicks are interested.

The question in this trade deal is what the team gives up for the Sixth Man. With doubt residing in the point guard position, Crawford would likely be target to fill the role off the bench. Since New York has Arron Afflalo in place at the shooting guard spot, Crawford could be traded with someone like Jose Calderon or Langston Galloway offered in return.

Team president Phil Jackson told ESPN's Ian Begley that while he likes what Galloway did last season, he doubts the point guard's ability to capitalize off momentum. That showed when the Knicks only gave him a partially guaranteed contract. Calderon is coming off an injured-riddle season and is hopeful to remain with New York and prove he is a true talent. For salary purposes, the Knicks could have to offer up Calderon which would leave Galloway and Jerian Grant at the point guard spot with Crawford filling in. The trade does not necessarily make sense, but New York is showing some desperation.

The Knicks continue to get linked to point guard trades despite having the three players on the roster. Sources have linked New York with everyone from restricted free agent Norris Cole to high-priced Ricky Rubio and Eric Bledsoe in mid-season deals. The Knicks could opt to be patient and wait to see how all three players look come training camp time or they could try and make a trade now while the price tags are relatively low.
