NFL News and Rumors: TY Hilton Signs Long Term Extension With Indianapolis Colts

Aug 13, 2015 04:03 PM EDT

The Indianapolis Colts have signed longtime playmaker TY Hilton to an extension. It is a 5 year extension worth $65 million with $39 million in guaranteed money.

The deal falls $5 million short of what Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas pulled in but Hilton was happy that something got done.  TY Hilton discussed his happiness about the deal after practice. Hilton stated

"They showed interest that they wanted me and I also wanted to be here. There's no place I rather be than here. This organization is great. I love being here. I didn't want to go into the season with it on my mind. I'm ready to play, to practice, and give it my all."

General manager Ryan Grigson stated,

"We're extremely happy as an organization to ensure that T.Y. will continue to be a part of our journey for many years to come. His daily excellence on and off the field is a shining example of an individual striving for greatness and what it truly means to be a Colt."

Hilton and the Colts were discussing an extension all offseason, now it appears both sides could not be happier with the outcome. Hilton is likely to start opposite of the Colts newest wide receiver Andre Johnson.
