The Houston Astros and San Francisco are both fighting for spots in the postseason while they come off of rough stints in the second half of the season. The Giants are coming off a lackluster road trip while the Astros are in the middle of a tough road stretch as they to aim on a positive note against San Francisco. After both teams made big upgrades at the trade deadline, they face off as the Giants want to finish a two-game sweep of Houston.

The Giants ended a road trip getting swept by the Chicago Cubs, but are starting a homestand by potentially sweeps the Astros who are currently dominating with a 60-52 record. Meanwhile, San Francisco has picked things up after losing nine straight games. They are 15-5 since the stretch and upgrades to the roster will only continue to help. The team will put Chris Heston on the mound after Madison Bumgarner struck out 12 on Tuesday. Heston is 11-6 with a 3.48 ERA, but is 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA in August. The pitcher has been struggling and needs to try and get back on track as he prepares to play Houston.

Heston will go up against Scott Feldman who is 4-5 with a 4.46 Era on the season. He missed two months with a knee injury and is just 0-1 in four starts since then with a 3.65 ERA. In his last start he gave up two runs and two home runs in six innings to the Oakland Athletics. Against San Francisco, he is 0-1 with a 5.17 ERA. The Astros currently have a one-game lead of the Los Angeles Angels for the American League West. They cannot afford to trip up on any more road stretches or else they could lose footing in the race for the division. They are one of the worst road teams in the league, batting just .193 while averaging 2.4 runs per game. The Giants have the bats to make that even worse.

Brandon Belt is looking to keep the hot streak going after getting two home runs on Tuesday. He is batting .256 over 10 games. However he is 1 for 5 against Feldman.
