Steven Jackson has apparently seen the reports of Darren McFadden being placed on the PUP list. Jackson tweeted an image of his old jersey number as a Bat Signal emanating out of Cowboy stadium with the caption "Attn @DallasCowboys".

The free agent running back market has slowed to a crawl and both Chris Johnson and Jackson have reached out to the Cowboys via social media. The problem here is that regardless Darren McFadden was never going to be the starter at best he was a relief/ change of pace back, which is exactly what CJ2k or S Jax will be unless they have a stellar camp like the ones they had when they were rookies.

The Cowboys have already stated that the McFadden PUP news is not grim and he has a minor hamstring problem. The Cowboys also have three other backs on the roster in Lance Dunbar, Lache Seastrunk, and newly signed undrafted free agent Gus Johnson. Johnson will be the person who benefits the most from McFadden's absence as the Cowboys are likely to give him a long hard look as the change of pace back in McFadden's absence.

Whether or not the Cowboys bring in more running backs as camp bodies is another matter entirely. If McFadden comes back and gets hit with an injury immediately I can see the Cowboys making a move for his departure however he is a Razorback and Jerry does love Razorbacks. The starting job is Randle's to lose at this point and the only way there will be a change is if he is injured or performs poorly, two things that are relatively unlikely to happen.
