The New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles take their series down to the wire as they play Game 5 of their NLDS matchup on Friday at 5:07 p.m. ET.

It is win or go home for both clubs after the Orioles fought in Game 4 and stayed alive.

They could thank midseason acquisition Nate McLouth for giving them life in the fifth inning on a homer to right field, scoring the first run of the game.

That lead would not hold up as the Yankees also wanted the win and they tied it in the 6th inning.

Manny Machado, their 20-year-old third basemen smacked a double and stood at second base. McLouth did not drive him in, but he moved Machado over to third on a grounder to second. JJ Hardy handled the rest and instead of just hitting a sac fly, he sent a double to the warning track barely missing a home run.

The Yankees have the advantage in Game 5 as C.C. Sabathia takes the mound. He will be countered by Orioles pitcher Jason Hammel.

Both pitchers faced in other in Game 1 of the series. They both pitched a gem, but Sabathia out shined Hammels going 8.2 innings striking out seven and only giving up two earned runs.

Hammels went 5.2 innings giving up two earned runs on just four hits, but walked four and finished with five strikeouts.

Both offenses have struggled combining for just eight runs in two games at Yankee Stadium. It seems like the short portch has everybody looking to hit home runs rather than simply making contact.

The Yankees will need Sabathia to dominate once again as they turn to their ace to get them into the ALCS.

Justin Verlander got the Detroit Tigers into the League Champion Series yesterday. The Yanks would not mind their ace to duplicate a Verlander-like performance and get them into the next round.

The Orioles would not mind Hammel to take them their either.

First pitch is a little after 5:07 p.m. ET.
