The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired Mat Latos, Alex Wood and Jim Johnson in a three way trade with the NY Mets and Miami Marlins and now LA could be poised to make another deal for David Price or Cole Hamels after prospects like Jose Peraza, Hector Olivera and Luis Avilan changed hands in the trade.

The Dodgers have been mentioned as one of the top options for a big name pitcher at the deadline, as they have a deep farm system and a glut of outfielders. The team has reportedly acquired Alex Wood and Mat Latos in a deal that sent out some prospects and a compensation pick to the Braves and Marlins and now the Dodgers could be looking for more. According to Joel Sherman at the New York Post, the Dodgers could consider dealing Wood and/or Latos along with some of the other players acquired to deal for Hamels or Price.

The trade for the Marlins, Braves and Dodgers has reliever Jim Johnson gogin to the Dodgers with Wood, while Michael Morse and compensation pick is going to the Braves, according to Ken Rosenthal at Fox Sports. The Braves get Hector Olivera and his #30 million left on his contract, but as Jeff Passan points out, "Atlanta stocked with young pitching, so can give up Wood." The Dodgers now could be gearing up for another move.

Jeff Passan at Yahoo Sports reported that one unnamed executive said that the Dodgers will likely trade "Wood to Philly for Hamels." Sherman postulated that the Tigers could be an option for Price and Ken Rosenthal reported that "a rival executive" said the Dodgers endgame was "Price." The team is likely keeping Latos and if they trade someone, it's likely Wood, as he is younger and a piece that teams may want. The Dodgers have been unwilling to give up their own prospects in deals, but they may have found the right pieces for what the Tigers/Phillies want.

Latos has a 4-7 record with a 4.48 ERA this season and the Dodgers have been looking for some stability behind Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw. Price could be a target for teams at the deadline with the Tigers reportedly selling and teams like the Yankees, Dodgers and Blue Jays are interested, according to Jon Heyman. The Cubs have also been mentioned as an option for Price, but reports have the team engaging in talks with the Padres.
