San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde avoids a tackle by the Arizona Cardinals defense in a 2014 game."

Carlos Hyde has some type of issue to be on the NFI list however what that injury is remains unclear. Hyde apparently suffered a minor calf injury during mini-camp and could potentially miss all of training camp.

Hyde is the only running back capable of carrying the load after the 49ers lost Frank Gore to free agency, now they must do everything they can to be overly precautious. New 49er head coach Jim Tomsula said that Hyde would be "pushing through it if it were a different time of year".

This could be interpreted that if the playoffs were drawing closer Hyde would be fighting for every yard he could get, but an injury already no matter how minor it is cannot be a good sign for the 49ers new rushing attack.

This is not only bad for his fantasy football value but for the 49ers running game as well. It is likely that Reggie Bush will carry the load going into training camp and potentially for all of training camp. Hyde was not the only player to be put on the NFI list, Aaron Lynch (hamstring), DeAndre Smelter (ACL), and Trenton Brown have all been added as well. Daniel Kilgore was placed on the PUP list following his physical.
