General Manager and Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the Denver Broncos, looks on as Peyton Manning #18, Demaryius Thomas #88 and other players warm up before a game between the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on December 28, 2014 in Denver, Colorado."

Denver Bronco's player Antonio Smith should report to training camp as scheduled. Smith has a child abuse case pending to which the Fort Bend County district attorney John Healey has not decided whether or not to charge him.

The Fort Bend County DA stated "The complaint is still under investigation and no determination has been made to formally charge Mr. Smith at this time, the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office is working with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office to further that investigation".

No charges have been filed and the complaint is at this point an allegation only". This means Smith will be able to practice with his teammates in training camp and get back to football sooner rather than later. It seems as if the DA is content with not pressing charges right away due to the nature of the allegations and the lack of evidence to support the claim.

The NFL cannot move to punish Smith either considering no charges have been filed and the truth behind these claims has not been validated.  With Derek Wolfe suspended for 4 games it makes it difficult for the Broncos to cut Smith however they did tell him to straighten out his personal life before rejoining the team, Smith is going to return to camp so one can only assume he knows something that we don't. As players show up and the lights become brighter it will be interesting to see what the Broncos do with Smith.
