Todd Gurley (St Louis Rams) RB2: Gurley will most likely start when he is fully recovered from his torn ACL. His recovery should conclude in the beginning of the season but expect the Rams to ease him into the offense.

Melvin Gordon (San Diego Chargers) RB1: Gordon is the number 1 starter on this list, just like he was the number 1 running back in the draft. He is healthy, his is fast, and can be drafted earlier than most. Gordon should start from day 1 however the Chargers have a deep running back committee now so look for Branden Oliver and Danny Woodhead to vulture some carries and touchdowns along the way.

TJ Yeldon (Jacksonville Jaguars) RB1: Yeldon is a day one starter with little competition. Yeldon's hardnosed running style will help push the pile and help Jacksonville get the most out of their attempts. But this is Jacksonville and a line similar to what Bishop Sankey walked into last season. Yeldon is a low tier starting running back.

Ameer Abdullah (Detroit Lions) RB2-RB3: Abdullah could easily win the starting job from the often injured Joique Bell. Abdullah is faster, younger, and smarter so the Lions will get more out of him than any other running back on the roster. My one concern is his size but he should play well when catching the ball out of the backfield.

Tevin Coleman (Atlanta Falcons) RB3: Coleman is currently behind Devonta Freeman but he could surpass the sophomore rusher if Freeman cannot make the most out of his carries. Coleman is a talented, bigger back with more of an edge so it would not be surprising to see him get the start as the season goes on.

Duke Johnson (Cleveland Browns) RB4: The Cleveland backfield is very crowded and it will be tough for Johnson to break through however he is being groomed as the feature back and will eventually become the starter. The timetable on this however is foggy to say the least.

Jay Ajayi (Miami Dolphins) RB4: Ajayi was probably the biggest medical red flag running back in the draft because of his injury history so spelling Lamar Miller for a season might be the best course of action to get him healthy. Ajayi will contribute as a change of pace back but I don't see the Dolphins relying on him for carries in the trenches.

David Johnson (Arizona Cardinals) RB3: Johnson will likely split time with Andre Ellington but Ellington is injury prone and can easily lose his spot if he misses significant time.

Javorius Allen (Baltimore Ravens) RB4: The Ravens RB committee is getting pretty crowded so expect this guy only to make an impact with a major injury.

Mike Davis (San Francisco 49ers) RB4: Davis can come in and spell Carlos Hyde if he wins the 2nd RB spot currently held by Reggie Bush.

Jeremy Langford (Chicago Bears) RB4: Langford could be dramatically important for this offense if Forte goes down with an injury. Langford is a reliable, speed back with a lot of edge, he won't push to start against Forte but he could be his successor.
