The 2015 Gold Cup is underway and the United States is off to a good start as they defend their CONCACAF tournament title, as they have won their group already and they come in after getting two winning results in games, putting USA, Mexico, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Panama among the leaders in the standings.

The United States has advanced into the knockout stage of the tournament after winning their first two games to take Group A. The team won over Honduras to open their schedule and they won against Haiti 1-0 to take the group with just six points. The other three teams all have combined for zero wins in two games apiece, with Panama in second place with two points. Honduras and Haiti each have one point after opening with a draw and a loss in the first two matches.

The United States is in good position to make it back to the final after winning the tournament leading into the last World Cup in Brazil. Jamaica is leading Group B with one win, one draw and three goals in two games with four points, while Costa Rica and El Salvador have two points each. Canada is in last place with one point in two games in group play. Mexico is leading Group C with Trinidad & Tobago with Guatemala and Cuba next in line.

The United States won against Haiti at Gillette Stadium 1-0 to take the Group A title already and that pushes them through to the knockout stage. Clint Dempsey scored the goal in the game and he has been a force for the US through two games, but they will have to play better to win the Cup again. Jozy Altidore has been trying to find his footing and he was replaced by Jurgen Klinsmann in the game and it helped change the complexion of the US side.
