Cleveland Browns Rumors: Terrelle Pryor Signed Over Wes Welker, James Jones for Josh McCown Help as Duke Johnson Starter with Brian Hartline, Dwayne Bowe?

The Cleveland Browns like to keep things interesting as they make another move to hopefully bolster the offense in 2015. The Browns have a wide receiver group with more question marks than guarantees as they prepare to enter training camp. While relying on veterans to be No.1 threats again, the Browns have made additions to the roster that may or may not pay off in the end.

Cleveland is the latest landing spot for Terrelle Pryor, but not as a quarterback. After announcing he would be switching from quarterback to wide receiver, the Cincinnati Bengals released Pryor where he was then signed by the Browns. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, there was little interest in Pryor at the quarterback spot which forced the position change. Now Cleveland will give him a chance to prove just how versatile he is. The Browns currently have John DeFilippo as their offensive coordinator. He is well aware of what Pryor can do considering the two worked together in Oakland. That could work to the player's favor.

According to Pryor via his Twitter account, he will be a "great WR" for any team that takes him. Cleveland is ready to give him the chance, but does that mean the team is done making moves before camp? The Browns added Brian Hartline and Dwayne Bowe in free agency to be their top two receivers. Both players have struggled in recent seasons which have sparked the idea of interest towards Wes Welker, James Jones or Reggie Wayne. The Browns could use all of the potential offensive weapons they can take on in order to help either Josh McCown or Johnny Manziel be successful in 2015.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, interest in another wide receiver addition has been slim from the Browns due to the versatility shown by Duke Johnson in OTAs and minicamp. The Raiders drafted Johnson in a surprise move considering both Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell excelled last season. However, Johnson worked more as a pass-catching back than anything else in team practices. The Browns loved the way he helped open up the offense and believe he can be a versatile threat in 2015.

For now, the Browns appear to be staying put on other roster additions. It remains to be seen if Pryor will make the roster or not for Cleveland. The team has other players like Andrew Hawkins, Taylor Gabriel and Travis Benjamin fighting for position as well which means Pryor has a lot of competition ahead of him.
