The Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup Finals over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night, defeating Tampa 2-0 in Game 6 to clinch the championship series 4-2 and Duncan Keith won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the series and he scored a goal in the clinching game.

The Blackhawks have won the championship for the third time in six years and it came after Keith scored the winning goal at 1-0 in the second period against Lightning goalie Ben Bishop. Corey Crawford got the win for the Blackhawks with 23 saves for his first finals shutout and he was able to stop the Lightning at every turn. Tampa had chances with Steven Stamkos shooting one off the cross bar and later on a breakaway, but Crawford was able to keep things clean.

Bishop had 30 saves in the game against the Blackhawks, but he allowed goals in the second and the third periods to Keith and Patrick Kane. The Blackhawks hoisted the Cup at home for the first time in decades, as the team won their last two championships on the road. Kane had a goal and an assist in the game and the Blackhawks got strong play from their defensemen on the back end to help Crawford with the shutout.

The Blackhawks last won the championship at home in 1938 and the game on Monday marked the first goal in the finals for Kane this year. Bishop's status had been in and out for the majority of the series and he did all he could in Game 6 to keep Tampa Bay in the mix. Keith won the MVP for the finals and he ended the playoffs with 21 points, three goals and 18 assists.
