The MLB standings heading into June 2015 have some surprise division leaders and wild card contenders with the Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins two of the best teams in baseball, while the New York Yankees, Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, Tampa Bay Rays, Chicago Cubs and NY Mets are among the contenders.

The American League East division is close from top to bottom with the New York Yankee and Tampa Bay Rays at the front. The Baltimore Orioles are a couple games back heading into their current series, while the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox are at the bottom. The Red Sox made a ton of moves this offseason and the Jays were also active, but they are within reach of the top of the division.

The Minnesota Twins have been one of the best teams in baseball at 30-19 and they are battling with the Kansas City Royals in the AL Central division. The Detroit Tigers are right in the mix, while the Cleveland Indians are six games out and the Chicago White Sox are last in the division standings. The AL West has the Houston Astros first in the division by a few games over the Angels, while the Rangers and Mariners are trying to hang in ahead of the Oakland Athletics.

The NL East has the Washington Nationals and New York Mets at the top of the division, while the Atlanta Braves are hanging in at a few games back. The Marlins and the Phillies are in the bottom of the National League East, while the St. Louis Cardinals are tops in baseball in first place in the NL Central. The Cardinals are leading the Chicago Cubs by five games, while the Pirates are next ahead of the Reds and the Brewers, who have just 17 wins coming into this week.

The NL West has the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants at the top of the division, while the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks are trying to hang in the race. The Rockies are in last place and as June's schedule starts to pick up, the standings will start to separate even more for teams hoping to make the playoffs.
