The Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers are playing Game 7 of the NHL playoffs on Friday and the game is on the NBC Sports Network and NBCSN Live Extra website streaming at 8 pm night from Madison Square Garden and the elimination game for the eastern conference finals has NY looking to stay undefeated in these seventh games, while TB will push with the series 3-3.
The Rangers come in after coming back from a 3-2 deficit after a listless game 5 defeat and now they have Game 7 at home. The team was the president's trophy winner this season and that is why they have home ice advantage. The series now comes down to one game and the Rangers are hoping that having home ice helps. The team erupted with their backs against the wall in Game 6 and won 7-3 and that came after the game was 2-1 into the third.
The Rangers got some amazing play from Rick Nash, Derick Brassard and JT Miller, as all three players had multiple points in the game. Brassard had three goals for his first career hat trick and the team had five goals in the third period. The team went down 3-2 in the series and they now are trying to stay undefeated all-time in Game 7s at MSG. The Rangers have Henrik Lundqvist looking to stay strong in game seven matchups, as he has been fantastic in the past.
The Rangers were not good in game 5 and if they lose this game, they would have lost three of four at MSG. The Rangers are trying to get back to the Cup for the second straight season and they are in the conference finals for the third time in four years. Alain Vigneault has his team playing with confidence and the Lightning are going to come in unafraid of MSG and the Rangers.
The Lightning can score at will at times, but this is a big test and the team is very young compared to the Rangers. The Rangers have experience and they just played a game 7 against the Capitals and had to win that and now they come in with a chance to get to the Cup finals. This is the biggest playoff game for the team since they last won the Cup and they need players like Nash and Lundqvist to be at their best again.
Nash made an amazing play by stealing the puck and passing it back to JT Miller before he found Brassard for another goal. This is what players dream about as kids and now it will become reality. But the end of this game will be a nightmare for someone.
