The NBA playoffs standings has the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors into the NBA finals after defeating the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets and now LeBron James and Stephen Curry will battle for the championship and things start June 4 out in California for Game 1 and this should be a major matchup for the league with two of its best stars.

James comes in after leading the Cavs to a 4-0 sweep of the Hawks, while the Warriors are into the finals for the first time in 40 years after winning over the Rockets in five games. The Warriors won Game 5 of the series against the Rockets 104-90 and now they are into the finals as the top team in the NBA this season. The Warriors only lost twice at home during the season and they had 67 wins and now the two most impressive teams in the second half of the year will battle.

The Cavs were the best team in the east in 2015, as the Hawks basically played .500 ball over the final few months of the season. This is the best matchup that the NBA could ask for, as Curry just won MVP and has played well in the playoffs. James comes in as the overall best player in the NBA and he is trying to get his city a championship for the first time in 50 years.

Curry comes in after leading the way with 26 points and six assists with eight rebounds, while Dwight Howard led with 18 points and 16 rebounds for the Rockets. The Rockets led the game early, but in the second quarter the Warriors turned it on and they never looked back. The Warriors have a great offensive team, but their defense has been underrated and that battle could be where the finals get decided.

The players will have a ton of time off before the finals, as things start up June 4 and that is huge for both teams. Klay Thompson comes in after getting hit in the head with a knee and the time off should allow him to heal up for the finals. Kyrie Irving has been banged up and he will get the chance to heal, while James said that he also has dealt with some nagging injuries.

James has the Cavaliers back into the finals for the first time since he was first with the team and he is trying to bring a championship to the city. The finals start on Thursday June 4 in Oakland with the Cavs visiting ORACLE Arena and that has Game 2 on Sunday after that. The series shifts to Cleveland on Tuesday and Thursday before heading back to Cali for Game 5 on Sunday. The teams then will play Game 6 and 7 if necessary on June 16 and June 19 with Game 6 in Cleveland and game seven in Oakland.
