The Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox meet up for the first game of a double-headed to make up for the two games missed during the riots that occurred in Baltimore earlier in the spring. Both teams are slowly tying to climb up the sub-.500 ladder and hope a win in the afternoon pushes momentum for the evening game. Chicago will place Chris Sale on the mound who was originally supposed to pitch  one of the cancelled games in hopes that he can begin to gain some consistency.

Sale is 3-2 with a 4.21 ERA and is responsible for trying to break a five-game losing streak to the Orioles. The White Sox are in the middle of an 11-game road trip while being forced to squeeze in the double-header during travel days. Sale is looking to get a win despite going at least eight innings in his last three starts. The pitcher got on win in that time span while receiving limited run support. Sale is coming off a rough start to the Minnesota Twins after giving up four runs and two homers in the loss.

The White Sox have some momentum heading into this game after they snapped a losing streak thanks to Gordon Beckham and Adam LaRoche delivering at the plate. Chicago has been struggling with plate production, failing to score more than three runs in their last eight games. However, in the past two games that have gotten 14 runs to break the slump.

Baltimore will hand the ball to Tyler Wilson to keep the win streak against the White Sox alive. The pitcher is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and is getting his first major league start seeing a pair of relief appearances first. The Orioles have been able to limit the White Sox to just 12 runs during a five-game win streak. Meanwhile Baltimore has won five of their last seven home games which could mean the win streak against Chicago continues. The White Sox have a chance as they face a pair of rookie pitchers today. The afternoon matchup will feature Mike Wright on the mound who has yet to give up a run in 14 innings as a starter. He has allowed just seven hits in that span.
