The Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs may have interest in Royce White for the NBA summer league this offseason, as reports have those teams and others interested in signing the former first round pick to play in Las Vegas following the NBA draft.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, White has interest from multiple teams for a summer league contract, including the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers. Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN In Minnesota reports that White has offers from "more than" one team along with his "LAC offer for summer league" and that he has spoken with his mentor Chris Carr about the situation.

White has the size and skills to play in the NBA, as he previously led his team at Iowa State in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals in the same season. SB Nation reports that the Spurs have interest in White and have offered him a spot on their summer league team for 2015. White has expressed interest in resuming his NBA career in posts on Twitter and playing in the Summer League could be a good re-introduction to the pros.

White previously was taken in the first round at number 16 by the Houston Rockets in 2012, but he was not able to work things out with the team while dealing with his anxiety disorder. White has some fear of flying and has been able to overcome that at time, but he could not work things out with the Rockets. White played in three games for the Sacramento Kings and he has also played in the D-League, where he averaged 11 points in 16 games played.

NBA draft is the next big event ahead of summer league play and over the past few years teams have been using the league as a way to give rookies and other players experience. White would be able to get back into the swing of things without dealing with travelling and after previously having issues, these teams could be more open to working with White about his mental health issues.
