Aaron Rodgers #12 looks to hand off to Randall Cobb #18 of the Green Bay Packers in the second quarter against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field on December 28, 2014 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. "

The Green Bay Packers had another strong draft this year and Ty Montgomery could end up as a major sleeper for the team and he could push Davante Adams as the third receiver for Aaron Rodgers this year behind Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson and this comes after the team picked Brett Hundley in the draft and he could be a backup for Rodgers.

The Packers are usually strong in the draft and they expect both Hundley and Montgomery to come in and earn spots on the roster. Hundley could be a future starter, but he likely will serve as the backup or third string player to start things off behind Aaron Rodgers and Scott Tolzien. The Packers saw value in Hundley and with Rodgers getting banged up in the past, he could be valuable.

Montgomery was a four year player with the Cardinal at Stanford and he comes in after being a leader and one of the best route runners in the nation. Montgomery had only 15 touchdowns in four years, but that was more due to the way Stanford runs the ball so much. Davante Adams is in as the third receiver, but Montgomery could push him during the summer and that adds another main weapon for Aaron Rodgers.

The Packers kept Randall Cobb in free agency to play behind Jordy Nelson and now Montgomery gives the team great depth at the position. Mike McCarthy likes Jeff Janis and James Abbrederis, but those players have not had the chance to get on the field much and now Montgomery could take advantage. Over the last two seasons Montgomery has had 122 catches for over 1600 yards and during his college career he averaged 12 yards per catch. Montgomery could be a great slot option for Rodgers and he can step up if Cobb or Nelson go down with injuries.

The Packers made a surprise move in the fifth round with the draft selection of Brett Hundley, as they obviously have a quarterback in Rodgers and a backup in Tolzien. Hundley was considered a mid-round pick and a QB project and now the Packers could look at Hundley as a future option.

Many draft scouts say he needs years to develop anyway and that could make him a project for McCarthy. The team has Tolzien as the backup, but Hundley could develop into the backup and could be trade bait depending on how things go in a couple years.
