Quarterback Robert Griffin III #10 of the Washington Redskins hands off to running back Alfred Morris #46 during the first quarter of a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at FedExField on November 16, 2014 in Landover, Maryland."

The Washington Redskins may consider a Kirk Cousins trade this year after signing back Colt McCoy and adding Connor Halliday as an undrafted free agent and this comes as Robert Griffin is expecting to take a "big jump" for Jay Gruden in his fourth season after the team added players like Brandon Scherff, Matt Jones and Jamison Crowder to an offense with Alfred Morris and DeSean Jackson.

Griffin comes in after dealing with injuries and mediocre play last season, but he should end up as the starter once again for Gruden. According to the Washington Post, Gruden said that he expects Gruden to improve in 2015 and that he thinks he can make a "big jump" in year two of his offense. Gruden said that players always work better in the second year of an offense, as it usually takes a season to get used to it before players really can understand the system.

The Redskins have Cousins and Colt McCoy as the backups for Griffin and the team also added Halliday as an undrafted free agent after the draft. The team signed back Colt McCoy this offseason and there is a chance the team could look at a deal with Cousins. The Washington Post reported earlier in the offseason that the Redskins were looking for a draft pick for Cousins and that the Cleveland Browns were an interested team.

The Browns did not draft a QB and while they have Johnny Manziel and Josh McCown, Jeremy Fowler at ESPN reports that the team is still interested in upgrading at quarterback. The Redskins have no problem keeping Cousins, as Gruden has praised him in the past, but they also don't necessarily need him with McCoy also on the roster. McCoy played well last season and beat Dallas in one of his starts and while Halliday is young, he appears to be the perfect fit for Gruden's offense.

According to Pro Football Talk, Halliday could compete for the third string job in training camp and if he wins it, the team could consider trading Cousins. Halliday played for a heavy passing team in Washington State and that could make him a good fit for Gruden, as he has experience with nearly 30 starts in college and he also has good size at 6-foot-3. Halliday threw for 11,304 yards in college and he also is the all-time leader for the Cougars in TD passes.

Gruden and Scot McCloughan put together a strong draft in 2015, adding Brandon Scherff in the first round and Matt Jones in the third. Crowder also should be a strong addition, as he comes in after being productive and a four year player at Duke. Crowder should add solid depth for Jackson and Pierre Garcon, while Alfred Morris has been one of the most-worked backs over the past two years and now he has Jones as a backup. The team needed to replace Roy Helu and now they have a solid option in Jones.
